Become a Sierra Promise student, take full-time units (15 per semester; 30 per year) and complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and get your First Year Free at Sierra.

  Why become a Sierra Promise student: 

  • Meet with a Transitions Counselor and Enrollment Specialist on Del Oro's campus for help with the enrollment process.
  • Receive priority registration for your first semester
  • Access scholarships, housing stipends, and other financial support
  • Make Student Education Plans and Career Action Plans
  • Connect to counseling and success programs for more resources and support
  • Save time and money by completing your certificate or degree plan quickly

Eligibility and Requirements:

  • Graduate from a Sierra Promise partner high school
  • Apply to Sierra College, complete orientation, and go to counseling
  • Enroll in Sierra College your first semester after high-school graduation. 
  • Enroll full-time (30 total units in an academic year) or maximum shown on your student education plan
  • Completion of FAFSA or California Dream Act Application is strongly recommended.

First Year Free provides free tuition to first time students who are California residents. See how you can qualify.

  • Enroll full-time (30 total units in an academic year) or maximum shown on your student education plan
  • Complete the 2018/19 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or Dream Act application. There is no income requirement.
  • If you are also taking summer classes you'll need to complete the 2017/18 FAFSA or Dream Act application by June 30 as well
