Academic Support

It is advisable that students and parents initially approach their individual classroom teachers for academic assistance.

Tutoring Options

CSF tutoring is after school on PLC Monday and Thursday in the Library. Student tutors are ready and willing to help you free of charge.

PTC tutoring is also free and hosted by teachers accordingly after school in the Library: from 3:15 to 4:30pm:

Tuesdays - Science 
Wednesdays - Math 
Thursdays - Social Science 
Fridays - English 
  • If you are looking for one-on-one tutoring you may contact Mrs. Silva at the Counseling Office. The paid tutor list is typically ready by the end of September after all the students who apply are screened and approved. The cost varies but is typically about $10/hr.

Learning Toolbox

This is a great resource from James Madison University to help in 8 academic areas of Math, Organization, Study Skills, Test Taking Skills, Note Taking, Reading, Writing, and Advanced Thinking. There are detailed instructions on learning strategies to help students become better learners. This site is great for students with learning disabilities or just having difficulty in any of the above areas.

Off Campus Coursework to Meet Specific Graduation Requirements- Students may take a maximum of 40 credits that meet specific graduation requirements. If you are planning on taking courses outside of Del Oro from a PUHSD approved institution, please note that you will need to get it pre approved by your counselor, you can find the pre-approval request form in the counseling office. If you have been approved to take off-campus classes remember it is your responsibility to complete the request form to have your coursework added to your transcript. Please read the form carefully for our policy of adding classes to your high school transcript.
