About Mr. Walters

Mr. Walters returned home after a 13 year odyssey in education and life. This year marks his tenth in education as a certificated teacher and 2nd year at Del Oro.

Biography
Mr. Walters was born in Walnut Creek, California and lived in San Ramon, Ca until the age of three when his family moved to Newcastle, Ca. Following his graduation from Del Oro, he attended California State University, Chico; majoring in History with a Social Science Credential option while also receiving his supplement in physical education.

He completed his student teaching assignment at Whitney high school (Rocklin, Ca) and was offered a position at Freedom high school (Oakley, CA). In that time he served as an assistant football and softball coach, concurrently serving as a Class advisor, and overseeing the Black Student Union, Ballroom Dance club, Powder Puff, and the Advisory committee.

In 2013 he realized a childhood dream and was named head football coach at Liberty High School (Brentwood, Ca). The 100 year old program saw a historic level of success during that time, recording 1st home playoff game, 1st playoff win, and the highest league placement in 2 decades. Leading the Lions for the those 4 years was a special experience that prepared him well to lead our own Golden Eagles football program.

He has a very loving family made up of his father, step mother, two brothers and most importantly his wife and kids. Mr. and Mrs. Walters were married July 25, 2009. In February of 2012, they welcomed "J Bay" Jena Rylee to family and her sister "Lil' Dub" Jayden Cameron in December of 2013. Logan "Bubba" Walters will celebrated his second birthday August 27th.
