Happy Friday!

For homework:
Read over chapter 16 and make sure that you understand the idea of meter in poetry (especially the idea of unstressed and stressed syllables).  There is more explanation of meter in chapter 17.

Then, go to chapter 18 and read the instructions (and samples) for writing a limerick.  Your homework is to write a limerick. Have fun with this form, and be creative!

  • Choose a photograph that means something to you and write a poem, using poems from ch. as models. Due on Wednesday.
  • For tomorrow, bring scissors, glue sticks, white out, black sharpies, magazines and newspapers for tomorrow.
